The NCM Lab developed a virtual water maze for testing spatial learning and memory processes in human. We have used the maze to make a cross-species comparison of the brain areas supporting spatial learning (external pagepapercall_made), to investigate differences in spatial learning between males and females (external pagepapercall_made), and to examine learning related changes in functional connectivity between hippocampus and striatum (external pagepapercall_made).
The maze runs in Matlab and requires the Simulink 3D Animation toolbox and Psychtoolbox. Be sure to take a look at the included readme file for a list of considerations to get the code up and running.
