The NCM Lab developed a virtual water maze for testing spatial learning and memory processes in human. We have used the maze to make a cross-species comparison of the brain areas supporting spatial learning (external pagepaper), to investigate differences in spatial learning between males and females (external pagepaper), and to examine learning related changes in functional connectivity between hippocampus and striatum (external pagepaper).

The maze runs in Matlab and requires the Simulink 3D Animation toolbox and Psychtoolbox. Be sure to take a look at the included readme file for a list of considerations to get the code up and running.
